Meet the Team: Jaclyn, Provider Development Manager in the Foothills of Utah

Our new Q&A series spotlights the people behind Alora.

Introducing: “Meet the Team”

Every shared living match starts with a person. And every system at Alora—whether it’s built to support a housemate, a host, or a family caregiver—starts with a person too.

In this series, we’re pulling back the curtain and introducing you to the people who make Alora what it is. No titles. No fluff. Just the humans doing the quiet, consistent work that helps care feel like home.

First up: Jaclyn, who helps make belonging feel possible—one match, one home, one person at a time.

Q&A with Jaclyn

Where do you live, and what does a good morning look like in your world?

I live in Sandy, Utah, located in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains. A good morning is opening my blinds and welcoming in the gorgeous view of the canyons. It’s invigorating and gives me a lift to start my day.

What brought you to Alora? And what keeps you here?

I was looking for a position that would incorporate my bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science and Health while also using my business management skills. What keeps me here is finding ways to connect with the community while scouting out people who could benefit from or provide our services. I really enjoy being a part of community connections. I also love working with Nicole Kanaman—she is a fantastic leader and very knowledgeable in her field.

How would you describe your role to someone outside the field?

I am assisting to grow a business that seeks to provide the best living arrangements for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

What’s something you’ve worked on at Alora that made a difference—big or small?

Preparing Shared Living Providers to welcome someone new into their home.

What’s one part of Alora’s mission that feels personal to you, and why?

Home is personal to me. Everyone deserves a great living arrangement. I love finding the right fit.

If Alora had a soundtrack, what song would you add to it?

“Simple Song” – The Shins & James Mercer.

Finish this sentence: To me, shared living means…

A safe place of belonging where people can build relationships and create a new home environment.

This is what belonging can look like.

Thanks, Jaclyn, for helping create the kind of connections that make shared living thrive. We’re lucky to have you.

Stay tuned for more stories from the team. There’s a lot of quiet beauty behind the scenes.
